(Day 20: Thirty day poetry challenge )
What do I hide
That the world can't see
What do I hide
From my family
There are secrets
That my friends don't know
There are secrets
Which could deal a marital blow
But what is most dangerous
Is the mind games we play
The way we fool ourselves
Each and everyday
Dreaming is healthy
High Self Esteem is good
But the low self image,
Ego, is rarely understood
Playing victim
For an incident long gone
Carry no guilt
For something very wrong
Blaming parents
For some choices they made
Ignoring the attitude
You carried since that day
Ignoring a problem
As if it's not there
Waiting waiting
Till it blows up everywhere
To be true to yourself
Easier said than done
Remove the mask
Half the battle is won
