Am I getting better

We find babies cute
Toddlers so lovable
But when they grow older
They seem not that adorable

Does that trend continue
And today am I unbearable!

I would like to believe
That is not the case
Wouldn't I have become a better person
With experience and God's grace

Would my old friends in school
Notice a change in my heart
Would I be more loving
Than I was in the start

Would my college class mates
Find me less rude
More caring and giving
And not a stuck up dude

I tend to teach and train
My body and brain
Do I take time to nurture
My heart and soul

Do I find myself seeking
to be a better person every night
Or did I stagnate
and drop the quest for the light
