A dead leaf

A dead leaf
A fallen flower
A broken branch
May have a deeper purpose
 I do not see

A dead hope
A fallen dream
A broken heart
May have a higher purpose
  I do not see

When it's dark
God grant me insight
When I am down,  Teach me
 to appreciate others plight

When the dark clouds loom
Instill in me a good attitude
When the flowers finally bloom
Teach me to live with gratitude
